Jim Cornett
Co-Director
Jim Cornett, Owner and GM for Harlow’s & The Starlet Room in Sacramento, has a storied history in the live entertainment industry that dates back to the late 1980s. He has an expansive past managing comedy clubs in both Sacramento and San Francisco before being brought on to manage two legendary venues, The Fillmore and The Warfield Theater. Cornett eventually made his move to ownership by purchasing Harlow’s and the building at 2708 J Street with a team of industry professionals and investors backing him. Since, Harlow’s has grown into the full-on Sacramento institution that it is today.

Elliot Prestwich
Co-Director
Elliot Prestwich has done quite a bit with his time in the music industry. He is currently the Executive Director for the Crest Theater, the President of SBL Entertainment, Marketing Director for George Kahumoku Jr.’s Slack Key Show, and on the board of the Academy of Hawaiian Music, Culture & the Arts. He is the former Marketing Director for Harlow’s and has developed many prominent Sacramento artists including Adrian Bellue, Joe Kye, Erica Ambrin, and Vista Kicks.

Julia E. Heath
Assistant Director/ Planning & Community Relations Manager
Julia E. Heath, Director of Visual Marketing for Harlow’s & The Starlet Room in Sacramento, has dedicated much of her life to all sorts of arts and entertainment. She studied film production at UC Davis and, while a student, was the Assistant Artist Services Manager at the university’s Mondavi Center. Heath also has experience working in operations for The Palms Playhouse in Winters, CA and managing the local band The Loose Threads. Her free time is taken up with a number of photography projects as well as volunteering her time with Girls Rock Sacramento.

Daniel Romandia
Assistant Director/ Public Relations & Marketing
Daniel Romandia is the Marketing Director and Co-Talent Buyer for Harlow’s & The Starlet Room in Sacramento. Romandia may be relatively new to working in the music industry having been a part of the team at the pair of venues for four years, but has been able to advance quickly thanks to his education and experience with live music. He has a degree in journalism from CSU Sacramento, years of experience interviewing musicians for magazines and alt-weekly publications, as well as a background being a part of Sacramento’s DIY underground music scene.

Gwendolyn Giles
UX & UI Designer/ Artist Relations Liaison
Gwendolyn Giles not only works for the marketing team at Harlow’s & The Starlet Room, but it also a well-known, respected face in Sacramento’s music scene. She has made up one half of local band Dog Party, while her sister fills out the lineup, since 2007. Giles’ behind the scenes industry knowledge comes from years of running her own tours as well as an internship with Red Light Management and is an active member of The Recording Academy/GRAMMYs.
She holds a degree in graphic communication from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and has extensive experience in web design and digital marketing.

Calvin Franklin
Team Member
Calvin Franklin, a production and promoter representative for SBL Entertainment, is synonymous with Sacramento’s live music scene. He’s been working in it since the mid ‘90s when he would book national punk and hip-hop acts as well as publishing a local zine focused on arts, entertainment, and music. Franklin “can’t think of a local venue [he has] not worked out of.” We wouldn’t expect any less.

Karlee Hormell
Team Member
Karlee Hormell and Sacramento music go hand-in-hand. Not only does she have plenty of experience on stage with her band me&you, who have toured with Dwight Yoakam and John Paul White, but she knows her way around behind the scenes as well. Hormell studied the music industry at, and earned her B.S. degree in music business from the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California. From there, she went on to work for the California Copyright Conference and for Sacramento-based independent show promoter SBL Entertainment.
She also uses all this experience to give back as she is a volunteer and coach for Girls Rock Sacramento.

Rod Elliot
Team Member
Rod Elliot, AGM and Head Talent Buyer for Harlow’s & The Starlet Room in Sacramento, has extensive experience in the hospitality industry dating back to 1989. Elliot started with Harlow’s in 1997 and became a co-owner in 2012. Within that time, he has built relationships with countless artists and figureheads in the local community.

Kenny Kaiser
Team Member
Kenny Kaiser is one of the leading Front-of-House audio engineers in live music today having worked with The Killers, Sammy Hagar, Foo Fighters, Selena Gomez, and plenty more.
Kaiser also has connections to Sacramento and Bay Area music as he’s played in town a number of times with his bands Karate High School and Stomacher as well as having worked for Slim’s, Great American Music Hall, and Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco.
